Birthday Oreo Ice Cream Cake

image
Oreo, I'm so very glad your parents got together.

I went to Wal-Mart to pick up some pictures the other day.  Thanks to this post by Dorothy, I could not get Birthday Cake Oreos out of my head.  It took a little bit of self-control to only come home with one package.

After making my way through half the package, I fully expect to buy another package before they disappear from the store shelves.  They are the best Oreos ever.  Yeah, that means better than the peanut butter ones.

Then I thought I should get all creative with what was left of them.  I went to my stand-by:  Ice Cream Cake.

You can use Cake Batter flavored ice cream, but I make my own by just taking vanilla ice cream (pictured above is fro-yo) and adding in a few tablespoons of dry boxed-cake mix.  I do 1 T. cake mix per cup of ice cream, and it's pretty cakey-tasting.

Here is my Cake Batter Ice Cream Cake Recipe.  I just substituted the Birthday Oreos for the Golden Oreos I usually use.  I put them into 4 ramekins this time (in a pathetic attempt to control my portions), but you can use a 9 inch pie pan or double it for a 9x13 pan.

Enjoy!
